The Advanced Tactical Camera (ATC) is an inexpensive tool for training and perfect for accountability in real mission deployments. Based on military and law enforcement feedback, the system resolution (640 x 480) and field of view (42°) was designed to replicate the vision of the human eye. In essence, this video camera is a black box that captures the crucial record of events in a use of force event.
The system is also extremely durable. Don't be fooled by similar video cameras! This ATC was specifically engineered to withstand the harsh recoil of a weapon. It is waterproof to 10 feet and even keeps out dust and debris thanks to the ruggedly built body. Did we mention it only weighs 8 ounces?
The ATC is versatile and can be adapted to most weapons systems using a Weaver or Picatinny rail system. Additionally, the ATC can be mounted to your helmet with this accessory rail. We find that the helmet mount is great for training scenarios, because you can see everything an operator is seeing and provide more constructive feedback. Speaking of training, you don't even need your computer to show footage to your team, use the included A/V cable and connect straight to a TV. The buttons on the ATC give you playback controls!
Though the ATC was developed for tactical applications, it's use doesn't stop there. Mount your camera on your favorite hunting weapon (bow, shotgun or rifle) and record your trophy game for all to see! Or attach the ATC to your airsoft or paintball gun and revel in the victory over the opposing team. The resulting footage is perfect for posting to YouTube and other video sites.

Don't waste your money
I purchased this item in January, 2010 and have regretted it ever since. The screw system broke off whith about 20lbs. of torque. That rendered the camera mount useless. I had to improvise a way to mount it to my ACH using cable ties. As for the camera itself, overall, it does what it is supposed to do, but the sound is so low it is, for the most part, inaudible. There is no way to adjust it. I was disappointed from the start.

ATTENTION: CUSTOMER REVIEW CORRECTION
Warning-For those who keep coming back to the Oregon Scientific A2K, here are the facts. The ATC and the OS cam may look similar, however, that’s as far as it goes. I can tell you from personal experience the OS cam is not designed to withstand the punishment of firearm recoil like the ATC. I’ve personally busted 2 OS cams both within the first 5 rounds before realizing my very costly mistake. The ATC is a military grade hardened camera designed specifically for use on firearms. If you want to strap a camera to your grandmothers bicycle, the Oregon Scientific cam is for you, but if you plan to strap it on a real weapon, the ATC is the only cam I’ve found that can take it. – GREAT PRODUCT US CAV!

Birdman
This is a great camera for those that abuse your equipment on missions. It's waterproof as far as I can tell. I wouldn't leave it in the water for along time but I've submerged it a couple of times now. The max resolution isn't top notch but it's great for those times when your regular camera would not hold up. The only issue that would keep me from giving it a 5 star review would be the microphone. It leave much to desire but hey, it's a tactical camera, not a handy cam.
If you looking for something to film your missions and it needs to be very rugged, I would recommend this 100 percent.
Mount it on your weapon or any place you can put a picc. rail. I'm having a clamp welded to a loose rail so I can mount it on the dash of my truck. If none of this helps you, do the engineer thing and duct tape down.

great camera
i didn't buy mine on us cavalry, bought at Sams club for $50. The only difference is the mounting bracket. this camera has a large variety of uses, i would highly recommend purchasing it.

ATC GUNCAM
I recently had the opportunity to battle test this device during a brown out sand storm in northern Az where I participated in a Mil-Sim paintball tourney.This thing held up great and cleanup was easy as its H2O proof.I didnt even notice a weight difference once attached.At the highest res. and fps the images were smooth and crisp,my only issue is I would like to be able to change format(AVI-MPEG)in cam menu.
