Great waterproof short top boot

I bought these boots Jan. 5, 2010 to wear while prospecting in the Arizona desert. The terrain was very rocky and rough, as well as some very wet days after storms blew through - my feet stayed dry, warm and very comfortable. You need to loosen all the laces and re-do them to suit your feet (I have high arches) and also turn down the tops of your socks to double them around the low tops of the boots if they rub you above the ankles. Once I got my laces redone to fit my feet and broke the boots in for a couple of weeks, I had no problems with rubbing or any type of uncomfortable wearing problems. I really love the comfort of these boots and highly recommend them for any type of terrain (rough mountain or smooth desert). I bought these on sale and feel like they are worth double what I paid!! I will definitely buy another pair of these Blackhawk warriors, if I ever wear this pair out. Glenn, McKinney, Texas

Boots

Excellent fit.
Fast shipping to APO address.
Zipper works fine, someone else gave it a bad review.
If you are in between sizes, go larger.
Able to remove boot without untying (zipper only). Once again, someone commented that they can't remove without untying, however, I am able to do so.
I have only worn for a few hours, but great so far. Arch is perfect. Good support on sides. No tight spots. Feels like a shoe instead of boot.
Excellent so far.

So-so

I don't want to give these boots a bad rap because they are quite are comfortable, but the zipper on one of the boots snapped off on only the 3rd time of putting them on. For a boot of $160+ the zipper should not be breaking. If the zipper is broken you pretty much cannot wear the boot as it is too loose. Because of the zipper these are unwearable so I have to give them a bad rating.

Not what I expected.....

This boots were not what I thought they were going to be. I had the original Blackhawks with no zipper when I first came to Iraq in October in 2007 and I loved them. By July I was ready for some new ones and saw these, I purchased them and was completely dissapointed by these boots. They are extremely too hot for Iraq weather, you have to untie the boot completely to get it off you can't just you the zipper, and worst of all they are so short in the back that it will give almost anyone a blister especially if you actually have to go on Patrols in Iraq and not sit on a FOB. Not even close to being worth the money.

5 STARS

I bought these Blackhawk boots almost a week ago and have been very pleased with them. They required no break in and are extremely comfortable. They are waterproof for sure, but are not too hot (it has been over 90º here this week). One of the best things is that I can get my foot in and out of them by using just the zipper, which is not the case with some other zipper boots I have owned. I would recommend these boots to anyone!
