What is RSS?
RSS is an easy way for you to keep up with latest product information without spending a lot of time searching for it. RSS feeds send specific information straight to you. Simply choose the feeds that interest you. For instance, if you want to see new products as they are added to our online store, choose the New Items feed. You will receive a notification the as the product becomes activated (similar to an e-mail) complete with product photo and brief description. You can even click a link within the description to take you to U.S. Cavalry's product detail page if you wish to purchase, add it to your wishlist or send it to a friend.
How do I get an RSS reader?
If you don’t already have an RSS reader application on your computer, you'll need to choose one before you can get started. There are a wide variety of easily downloadable RSS readers available on the web. Both
Google offer extensive lists of RSS readers. Please note: RSS reader programs vary, so make sure to follow your program's directions.
If you have a MyYahoo! account just click on the icon adjacement to your selected feed.
Setting up a feed
Once you’ve successfully installed the RSS reader, you can subscribe to a U.S. Cavalry RSS feed by clicking on the "RSS‘ icons for each feed that you want to receive. After clicking on the ’RSS" icon, copy and paste the Web address, or URL, into your RSS reader.
- When you click on one of our RSS icons, a new page will pop up, with XML source code. Ignore the code.
- Find the address of the new page in your browser’s address bar. The URL should look something like this: http://www.uscav.com/rss/bestsellers.xml
- Highlight the address with your mouse. Right-click and copy it.
- Paste the address into your RSS reader. (Just how and where you do that depends on which RSS reader you are using.)
- Now you will be able to see updated headlines from the feed(s) you have selected.

"RSS" stands for ’Really Simple Syndication‘ or ’Rich Site Summary.‘ An RSS feed, also known as a ’news feed" is a feed of content from a Web site that you can subscribe to and display in an RSS reader. This can include images and text and there is no limit to how many feeds you can subscribe to.

A news feed reader, also known as a news aggregator, is a software application that lets you subscribe to RSS feeds and display RSS headlines from many websites all in one window.
Why should I use a news feed reader?
Using an RSS feed reader allows you to view feeds from many news sources in one place. Readers also alert you to new articles on the topics in which you are interested in. Some readers pop up a new window when a new article is available, feature scrolling tickers or integrate into e-mail and Web browsers. When you are alerted of the new article, you can click on a link that will take you directly to the article.
These RSS newsfeeds are also compatible with My Yahoo!. Just click on the Yahoo icon to add a feed to your My Yahoo! page. You can position U.S. Cavalry's feeds at the top of the page by pressing the ’Edit’ and ’Move to Top’ links.
