Watch it! They changed them.

I have purchased these before for my nephew flying Blackhawks in the sandbox. As Timothy said above, guys in the know bought these for their good price and great value. The external double-stitched thumb made for a great fit and they wear forever. I was disappointed to find they have changed the thumb stitching to a cheaper internal single stitch which gives a terrible fit and will rip after flexing your thumb for any amout of time. As this is a GSA Schedule item, I guess the government has gone along with the change. Sad to see a good product cheapened just to save a few pennies per glove. US Cav should change the pictures online as they are no longer accurate and are misleading. Watch yourself on these, they are not what they used to be.

Very durable

We have used these gloves in our airsoft gunfights for almost a year. The stictching and the leather show no signs of failure despite hard use in snow, mud, and when grabbing handholds on rock and trees. The tanning on the leather fingers shows signs of wear from winding the magazines to feed our ammunition during the non-lethal combat we engage in, but in no way are they worn through. These gloves have been worth every penny they cost.

comfortable but...

pros: These gloves fit snug, are warm, & allow me to work with small items. cons: Stitching @ fingers came undone after 2 mos. Finger tips wore through. I would buy a pile of them if they weren't so expensive

Safety the Best

In winter of 1993 my right hand was caught in a conveyer belt. The ER surgeon stated that had I not been wearing the Nomex gloves on the inside, my hand would have been torn off at the wrist. I have also worn the off brand, with much disgust.

Great so far.

I first bought the Blackhawk brand and they were defective out of the box. The left thumb was splitting at the seem. They have internal stitching on the thumb area. The right glove looked like it was about to split also when I flexed my thumb back. These gloves have external double stitching all the way around the thumb. These gloves also feel heavier then the Blackhawks. They also have longer gauntlets. They seem very well made and durable. They fit nice and snug also.
