Yes, It is worth $450. Buy one and you will understand.

I originally came across this sleeping system in the military. Since then, I have bought one of my own and will recommend it to everyone who either goes camping or wants something in case of emergencies. The only real gripe that I have is with the compression bag. If you try to compress it like crazy (like I do), it will try to escape from the top and the barrel string lock doesn't hold very well. I'm also slightly worried about the straps (stitching) pulling away from the compression bag. But keep it in mind that I try to compress it more than it's designed to be compressed. It's large, comfortable and warm. I've used the entire system in -20 degree weather and still found myself to be comfortable. This thing will blow those cheap $70-100 sleeping bags out of the water. Trust me, you will not be disappointed with this system. No more dragging around super bulky sleeping bags and blankets around with you. I also have one solely in my SUV in case of emergencies.

start with the best, forget the rest.

This is simply the best bag I have ever had. I have owned a few others inc the army issue ICW, adn ECW bags. I bought one of these to try out, I now have 3. I will be placing orders for 2 or so more of them. as I change out my other family members bags' for this one. I use it with the 1in self infateing sleeping pad, it will fit inside the cover and below the sleeping bag so you get to stay on top of your sleeping pad all night instead of wakeing up next to it. having 3 bags in one you cove a wide range of climents, but if you still need colder buy an additional patrol bag and snap into the system or the fleece liner. i have not needed to do this. so far I have used this bag at temps as hot as 90f and as cold as -10f. the olny fault I could find was the cover is made to pull completly over your head so teh bag can shed water. this will be very nice if im cought out with it and no other type of shelter, but most of the I don't like the cove tring to ride up onto my face. I solved this with a small pice of velcro. giving me the option of the cover staying up or down.

last bag i will ever need

I have owned this sleep system for a few years now and I have to say its the best on the market. I have read the other reviews pertaining to this product and I have one thing to add that I feel was left out. its true the weight of the system is on the heavy side BUT, if you are a year round hiker like me this system will actually lighten your pack. I used to carry a small tent to keep out of the elements and a sleeping bag. but now thanks to this system I can enjoy the outdoors in any weather and not have to lug a tent around with me. also i happen to know that the product advertised on this site is 100 percent authentic military issue. i read some of the others commenting on price but, in this instance you get what you pay for. there are a lot of people selling knock off versions of this system that look very alike. but in my experience U.S. CAVALRY can be trusted.

Pay 400 for this?

Fantastic set-up- warmest sleep system on Earth in my opinion. But, 400 + dollars for it? I don't think so! I bought my US Military Genuine ECWS Sleep System on E-Bay for 100.00, delivered. If you have money to burn buy one here but they can be had, same quality, cheaper elsewhere. Merry Christmas!
