Description/Features |

A revolutionary thermo-plastic system that replaces traditional foam. Skydex® technology absorbs more impact in less space while providing moisture-wicking and anti-fungal properties in a system that is both comfortable and easy to maintain. Additionally, Skydex® pads retain their shape over time, even in extreme hot and cold environments - unlike foam systems that can compress and lose effectiveness and become unsafe. This system is specifically designed to retrofit older style PASGT helmets. Includes:
- 4-point retention system
- Alcohol swabs to clean helmet interior
- VELCRO® coins for custom pad placement
- Skydex® pads

Heaven on my head

I had the old chin strap suspension before getting this and let me tell you, this system is the most comfortable thing I've ever put on my head. My only complaint is that the straps get tangled and twisted a little too easily, but it's a two second fix and the comfort is worth it. BUY IT!

Must Have Item

I have bought these to issue to guys deploying in both hot and cold environments and all have given me feedback that this kit made their helmets wearable. Being able to wear the helmet more comfortabley meant they felt safer and more ready to move when called upon. This is now one of the 5 must have items I issue our deployers with.

A very slick installation

I rate the Skydex and Oregon Aero PASGT retrofit kits equal in ability to protect. They're the best out there. I give a slight edge to the Skydex kit for ease and simplicity of installation.
The Skydex kit uses 18 Velcro circles, just like the ACH. This seems to be the best way to make sure there's some Velcro SOMEWHERE to grab the pads. The replacement fabric band is simply there to allow attachment of the PASGT camouflage cover as before. The mounting system for the Oregon Aero was a bit more complex, and installing the camo cover was a bit trickier.
For safety, you can't do better than either brand. For ease of installation, and a cleaner, simpler end product, I give the nod to Skydex. You can trust your life to either one.
And there is a trick that can let you use an ACH camo cover on your converted PASGT. Just don't try it if your First Sergeant has real sharp eyes.

Great kit

I recently upgraded my helmet with this kit. I can tell you that I have tried other companies and Skydex by far is the best. Don't let the price fool you, cheaper doesn't me poor quality. This kit is by far the best one on the market.
Semper Fi!
