Great quality bag. Have not used it yet but will this summer 2012. Cant say enough about the organization of it. Plenty of room to hold sleeping bag, tent, medical kit, ammo and all other outdoor essential. Loaded it up with 45/70 guide rifle and gear, and put it on and very comfortable with good weight distribution and padding. Really first class. I will use it on hunts or regular packpack trips. Top pocket is very spacious. Compact back profile that holds a surprising amount of stuff and you can add more pockets for other essentials. Holster folds up and away when not using which is great.

Very nice and Quit
I bought this pack just when I was moving from my small home town of Hoonah AK to Juneau AK they are only about 70 miles apart but seperated by water as Hoonah is on an Island.
Anyways The only reason I gave this a 4.5 instead of a 5 is U.S. Cav sent me the wrong color I ordered Olive drab and they sent me Coyote Brown(I served in the army wanted Olive Drab). But No worries I like that color now that I have it seen it in person. Not bad enough to send it back. :)
I have tried it out at home and set it up the way I wanted it to be.
Finalley in med August I got to go back to my home town and try it out in the field deer hunting.
Was very comfy carring it,..nothing made noise or was bouncing annoying me as I hiked up the mountian. About 40 minutes into the hike after resting, I walked around a stump and there was two Brown bears about forty yards away walking right at me. :(
No worries I got out of there Ok,.. safe.. and.. thanks to this pack,,,... Quitly. :) True story..I love this pack, and now that the color problem is out of the way I give it a 6 :)out of 5. :)

Just a question.
I apologize for putting this in a review section, But i'm looking at buying this pack I am missing some info that maybe you guys could fill in for me. Such as the dementions of the pack. I would also like to know how the comfortability is compared to the phantom pack since They don't show a picture of the shoulder straps on the gunslinger pack. Thanks guys!

At first I was a little apprehensive about spending $180.00 for a pack. I'm glad I did. This is a large and rugged pack. It's very versatile and can adapt to any mission. It's comfortable to wear. It holds all of my gear plus the rifle. A+++

You won't be disappointed.
When the pack is shipped, it is all folded up with the scabbard tucked into the area between the main pack and the lumbar support system. When you open it completely up, you realize that this pack is top knotch. The materials used beat anything used by Kelty or Jansport packs and there is no question that you can fit a M40 or SR-25/DPMS class weapon easily into the scabbord. If you have target turrets, be sure to turn the weapon where the windage turret is turned away from you, otherwise it will get uncomfortable digging into your back. The pack has a number of hidden pouches and the lid has two pouches also. The MOLLE system is an added plus, however the attach points on the waist strap are a little impractical. This is a pack that will provide years of service under extreme conditions.
