F4N Terminator
Make that Military Retired: I like the N model because its built more to military specs since that's what it was designed to be. In deference to what has been said, we've had 6 Eberlestock packs around here, all from the tactical side - though two were Battleships, and tactical would fit them loosely. I said that to say we have never, ever, had anything on an Eberlestock break, or turn loose. Additionally we ordered from here and got the pack in about 5 days. Now to the Terminator: If you have a 40 inch waist or more order the long belt to go with it. for another 26 bucks you cannot beat it. It's much more heavy duty and comfortable to wear. That's important because the way E-Stock's are constructed most of the weight shifts to your hips, which handle the weight much better than shoulders. Speaking of shoulders, the pads are genius. Very thin, dense padding - proves a shoulder pad does not have to be an inch thick to work great! If you are into the Gypsy look feel free there are ample Molle/PALS attachment points to make the grade. To me there are only two nits: 1. (minor) the top cover doubles as a fanny pack - and the hydration sleeve in it is at best one liter size. So we put the 2 liter pouch in the very top and use the hydration sleeve in the center for a dry storage space. That pack slides around when full, and IMHO Eberlestock missed a real bet on it. The waist belt on that unit could hold it very securely in place, had E-Stock simply placed an attachment point on each side of the pack body to cinch it down. It would be incredibly unitized with two extra attachments that robust. 2. When the side sleeves are full, the stretch pockets are pretty much out of business. In our case, we like to carry an M4 carbine on the right side, and the stock fits perfectly down into the pocket, but that choice renders the pocket pretty well unusable - but again that's a choice not a flaw. Overall I'll rate this at the top but again IMHO, it's the number two pack in the E-Stock line - second only to the Skycrane - which we love for the modular ability. When you buy any Eberlestock, pick carefully - because it's gonna be around forever!

Great pack!!
This pack it awesome!!! Very well built. I bought it in military green but from eberlestock directly. I first ordered it through us calvary and had to cancel my order because I waited 6 months.....6 MONTHS....and still have not received my pack, even when eberlestock had them in stock. I called us cal. at least 15 times trying too figure out why it's taking soooooooo loooonnnggg and they kept telling me it will ship out this month....next month same thing....next next month same answer....next next next month same answer!!! I am extremely disappointed at US Calvary. I have bought several items before with no problem but having your customer wait for 6 months is ridiculous!!! Moral of the story.....great pack, definitely buy one just not through US Cal. Thanks for nothing

Great, but...
This really is an awesome pack. It has all the room you need, a great variety of pockets to stash things (especially the exterior pockets), and it handles huge loads with ease. 60 pounds feels like nothing with this pack. Now for the bad part. First, the water bottle pockets on the sides are poorly designed. With the sleeves on the side full, it is very hard to get a bottle into the pockets. Next, the rain cover does not fit the pack when it is fully loaded. I have no idea why this is the case. Finally, and most importantly, both of my load adjusters broke. The first broke on my second use of the pack right before I set off into the Grand Canyon for 4 days. I dealt with it and it handled my relatively light load easily without the adjuster. I sent the pack off for service when I got back and it was repaired but it took a month and cost me $60 for shipping. The second adjuster broke on the second trip I took after the repair. This I repaired myself because I had another trip planned in a week. so far my repair has held but I don't think I should have to sew on a $400 pack. All of that said, this still is a great pack. Even with blown load adjusters I got the job done. The pack is too feature-right and too comfortable with load to be outweighed by the problems I have had.
