best you can buy
i don't usually write reviews, however, having been issued these boots in basic i can tell you first hand how good these boots are. They have survived well over 100 miles worth of ruck marches, countless days in the field and abuse i would not even mention. They hold up exceedingly well and are very comfortably. They can and will take whatever form of abuse you can imagine and perform like they should and better in just about any situation. They are more than worth every penny and will more than likely outlast any other boot you own right now.

My First choice
I went to try out for the U.S. Army Special Forces (SFAS) with a pair of these, that I had been issued in boot camp, and a pair of jungle boots that I bought. I thought I would never wear my Bellevilles, but the jungles turned my feet into hamburger meat. The Bellevilles saved my life. In SFAS you do long ruck marches and lots of them, you want a very good boot. I went back a second time and brought two pair of bellevilles, had no problems with my feet and passed the course. Now I will never wear anything else. The insulation holds your foot snug to keep from rubbing and eliminate blistering. They are totaly waterproof, and will not wear down. My only complaint is they are a bit heavy, so I put new lighter soles on them, and they rock. If you are looking for a spit shine boot don't buy these, But you don't need a shine in the field. I'll take a healthy foot on a 24 mile ruck march over a mirror shine any day.

Great boot.
I agree wholeheartedly with the previous review. This is certainly one of the best boots for the price available for non-ecw use. I have put thousands of clicks on mine and they are still great! These are the best boots I have ever owned. You can pay $250 for some fancy designer jobs that are as comfortable, but they don't last. My last pair of Ecco's fell apart in less than 1k. In my mind the last thing you want to go wrong on a march or long patrol is a boot problem. If you are going on swamp patrol I would recommend going to the quartermaster and having him issue you a pair of gaiters. A 10 inch boot just won't do it. All in all this is one of the finest(and proven) products still produced by the Americans, along with their heavy equipment and other fine military items.

Wear well!
I was issued these boots about three years ago, and I was skeptical at first. These boots have worn well. They took a little while to take a good polish, but they're not meant for dress. They don't leak, unless your in water higher than the boots covers. I usually just hose them off with a pressure washer and re-polish them. If you are going to wear them in really cold weather, wear good socks! 200 grams of thinsulate is not enough. Like I said, three years and still going. It's not worth getting new boots when I can get these re-soled for less than $50!
