The cup turned black when heated over a stove. I used my old GI cup and had no problems. This is an expensive piece of junk!

Looks sturdy but the powdery coating on the inside is strange. Also the cup has a strong metal smell. I boiled some water completly out of it and there was a strange black mark left in it. Will not be using it to cook with.

High Price, but imported item
I need to take time before giving any conclusion about its quality. The price is high. It should be made in the U.S, especially military items.

How safe is this product ?
I just got this item in hand and realized there is a rough coating on the stainless steel cup. It smells like a metal and feels very rough. I am sure it would be very difficult to clean this cup. But my most concern is.. Is it healthy to use ? I do not know about the material, but ...... I will wash it very good, even I may sand the coating inside the cup to make sure it is safe. I have a bad feeling about this product...... made in China US military GI style stainless Steel Canteen Cup.

great piece of kit
Works well. It stores in your canteen pouch without any fuss. Handles seem to insulate well for me but wearing gloves when boiling may be prudent. This is an essential for any LBE setup or just to keep in your emergency backpack.

Canteen Cup is nice and handy however, $11.95 is a little too much and should be lowered by at least half considering the canteen it's self is only $1.99. Over all, I like this one better than the aluminum cup I have.

This is a nice canteen cup. Compared to an old aluminum one that I have, this is much better and not that much heavier.
