I believe in not putting to many eggs in one basket with this one.  We need to look at ourselves as decentralized when dealing with these cells to gain more information and even confidence when dealing with them.  It should not be easy for them to put 2 and 2 together to keep from being detected, especially in a religious or business type situation.  Something will eventually have to give, and I believe consistency is the key.

Securing the borders is not enough and very unrealistic, the enemy is already within. Federal agencies need to recruit operatives that may be trusted by these various demographic groups.  If they cannot infiltrate and gain information from within these groups outside intelligence gathering is basically an educated guess.

Trying to close and secure the southern borders is a step in the right direction even if it is a hard task to carry out. As far as the enemy being already within, locking down the borders is a way to not let anymore in! The USA isn't going to infiltrate these cells as easy as they would like because they don't truly know who the enemy is, not to mention we don't know enough about what makes the enemy tick. The true enemy is the " Idea or cause " they believe in. This is going to be very hard to defeat. Just like the superior british army against our so called untrained farmers and peasents during the revolutionary war. The Brit's couldn't defeat us because we were fighting for a/our cause! We now find ourselves with the perverbial shoe on the other foot here. this is what worries me.

think outside the box, most agencies fedral, military,or other have and use rigid tried and tested protocalls which are by todays standards ineffective.if you look closely at a chain each link is a complete peice capeable of its own integrety.as part of a chain, the  overall strenght is the sum of its links, this we all know, but if the federal and military agencies adapted the approach of replicating and assimilating these cells in a 21 centuary approach to the modern terrorist threat then i dont see objections from those people who want to live in a free and democratic society.

Step one, get all those freakin' libs out of our hair. Realise that the 2A means, at least, combat grade fighting tools. Then we have the Patriotic Americans eliminate the problem right next door. That simple. And eliminate the traitors in our midst. Didn't we already do that once 230 years ago?

I agree with pidi securing are borders is not enough, the enemy is already in. The terrorist are fitting into our communities and getting ready for there next attack. We need to continue to be familiar with are community and make the war on terrorism not just the military's concern.

I think it is important to encourage more community policing policies across the nation.  We cannot stop an attack if we don't know its coming, we can't apprehend suspected terrorist/criminals if we don't know where they are.  Even if increased patrols don't lead directcly to a decrease in terrorism, perhaps by making the communities feel safer they will be more willing to come out of the "safety" of their homes, and be able to identify those that don't belong.  But for any changes to occur we, as tax payers, will have to be willing to fund the extra patrols, officers, and technology needed to make a difference.  This is the first and maybe most difficult task involved.

To combat terrorist cells our intellegence agencies need to use all technolgy availuable.  Locating the moneies used by the terrorist cell and find out where it coming from.  Then rent the movie Munich to see what i think should be done next.
